SPECIFICATIONS TO
REFURBISH AND COLOR COAT TENNIS AND BASKETBALL HARD COURTS

 

1.      Scrape and clean entire court surface area. All loose dirt and debris shall be cleaned from the court surface utilizing commercial grade mechanical air blowing equipment.

2.      Patch all unacceptable low areas greater than 1/8 inch depth with Latex-ite leveling compound to minimize any “ponding” and “birdbaths”.

3.      Clean and remove dirt and foreign debris from all cracks. Fill all cracks smaller than  ¼  inch width with Latex-ite acrylic crack sealing compound and fill all cracks greater than ¼ inch width with hot applied rubberized polymer crack sealant. Install closed cell backer rod where necessary. 

4.      Furnish and install two coats of Latex-ite (or equal) Acrylic Resurfacer over entire court surface  to build surface profile for correct footing and ball speed and fill all voids and pittings

The first and second coat applications of resurfacer shall be mixed in the following manner: 55 gallons undiluted Latex-ite acrylic resurfacer, 400 lbs. Silica sand (#80 mesh) and 30 gallons potable water. Theses coatings shall be applied at a rate of not less than .175 gallons per square yard for new paving and .1 gallons per square yard over existing color coat system.

6.      Furnish and install two coats of Latex-ite 100% in depth Acrylic Color sealer in the choice of color(s)

The third coat application consisting of  Acrylic Color shall be mixed in the following manner: 55 gallons Latex-ite Acrylic Color sealer, 400 lbs. Silica sand (#80 mesh) and 25 gallons of potable water. This application shall be made at a rate of not less than .1 gallons per square yard. The fourth and final coat application consisting of Acrylic Color shall be mixed in the following manner: 55 gallons Latex-ite Acrylic Color sealer, 100 lbs. Silica sand (#80 mesh) and 25 gallons of potable water. This application shall be made at a rate of not less than .75 gallons per square yards

7.      Layout, tape and apply two coats of  Latex-ite acrylic line paint as per guideline from the United States Tennis Court and Track Builder’s Association

8.   Furnish and install on fence court use regulations sign as detailed below at all usable court entrance gate
